As Social Media Assistant, I helped manage accounts with a combined following of 130k followers, and helped to increase our Instagram following from 20k followers to over 70k followers in less than a year through a combination of engaging posts and weekly scheduled video content that consistently received at least 7k views within the first few hours of posting.

I established and maintained the Parnassus Books Instagram Shop for over a year. I really enjoyed finding creative ways to promote our merchandise to our audience.

I came up with the idea one day to highlight great first lines in recently published books. This post was one of our best-performing posts of the year, and taught me a lot about how to grow engagement through providing more interesting content.

Lauren Groff’s visit to Parnassus Books to promote her new book Martix was a major moment, not only because it marked our tentative return to live in-store scheduling in Fall 2021, but also because Matrix was one of our most anticipated reads of the season. I attended the event and created a recap post to celebrate what was a wonderful evening of talk about nuns and Hilma AF Klint and cheesemaking and all sorts of wonderful things that only Lauren Groff could manage to relate to each other.

My “Goodbye” post was another top performer, and was one of my personal favorite posts ever. The post received almost 3,000 likes, but the comments were by far the best part. You can view the original post and comments right here, and view some of my favorite dedications above.
